Align brings true scale to life with this beautiful rendition of the Agusta/Westland AW-109, dressed in striking red/white Coast Guard colors. The AW-109 (formerly the A-109), was developed in the late 1960’s as a single turbine platform, but was quickly redesigned as a twin turbine platform to expand its flight envelope & application. Utilized in SAR (Search and Rescue), EMS/Life Flight, Corporate & Coast Guard varients, the AW-109 has been a phenomenal platform for multi-role use, and is well known for its sleek, aerodynamic form, utilizing a retractable landing system for greater speed & efficiency.
Adding scale touches, such as scale paint & markings, scale exhaust vents, aircraft “tail numbers,” and a functioning scale servo actuated retract system, this fuselage is finished with stunning detail that will bring a thrill on the ground and in the air.
Align brings quality features to all their fuselages, such as a carbon fiber reinforced ribbing for strength & crash resistance, along with a functional servo retract system that I actuated via (2) Align DS410M servos. Adding to this is touches like magnetic hatches for easy battery & helicopter access, so you no longer have to fuss with tools to make quick adjustments & battery changes, allowing you to enjoy scale flight without the drawbacks of other inferior designs.
