I received my MCX several days ago from HeliDirect and after only a few flights with my first heli I can say I'm very pleased with it and feel very confident in flying it. Flight times averaged about 8 minutes with the stock battery. Overall I'm very happy with the fast service with HeliDirect as I placed my order last thursday and my order was shipped on friday, and I couldn't be happier with the Blade MCX as well.

Excellent mini helicopter, very easy to learn and fly. This is a 'low and slow' flyer, not suited to souped up aerobatics. Delicate body (as expected) requiring nimble fingers to install battery and avoid crushing or disrupting the canopy. While it says only for indoor flying, I suggest learning outside in a grassy area and not exceeding about 10 ft. on a calm day while you get the hang of it. Too many things to smack into inside (walls, light fixtures, furniture, people, etc.) Mine was the 'ready to fly' model with transmitter. The trim tabs are easy to use to stabilize the copter, and once you get to a semi-hover state you can easily adjust them with individual presses to get the copter motionless with no input. You can do it with the copter 'landed' but I found in-flight the best way to finally get the thing to stop slow spinning or drifting. I would say this is an 'adult' or 'adult supervised teen' toy and not a kid toy as it could pretty easily be wrecked. It's great that the replacement parts are VERY inexpensive as it didn't take too long to break a little tab on the top rotor blade that holds the stabilizer bar. (It seems the top rotor blades and inner hub assembly are most susceptible to damage due to the weight and torque of the stabilizer bar if that hits something in flight). The Li-Po batteries provide excellent run time and weigh next to nothing. Get a couple of these (although they are not cheap) to allow you to have some in rotation for continuous flying. They take about 15 minutes or so to recharge off the included charger (that uses 4-AA batteries). I need to get another one so I don't have to sit around waiting for my teenager to give it up. ;0

Eflite did an excellent job on designing and manufacturing this mCX. I stopped by the warehouse in East Boston and Sam (the owner) hovered it above my head. He even took his hands off the TX. After giving it a test-fly, I said to him "I want this one." This mCX, in my opinion, flies better than the bigger and more expensive CX2. I fly it in my living room in the winter time in my comfy P.J. and it is very stable. I bought an extra pair of blades but never had to replace them so far, although I dropped it on the floor and crashed to the sofa several times. By the way, the TX is also well worth it. Don't save the extra 30 bucks on the TX and then use your metal bulky transmitter. The TX that comes with the mCX is a bit smaller than a PS-2 controller and it feels smooth in the hands. The carrying box fits the heli, the charger and the TX nicely and I can carry it anywhere anytime. I recommended this helicopter to my co-worker. He bought a set and loved it. He never flew an R/C helicopter before and he hovered it after a few minutes. Thanks to Helidirect for making this available to us.
