Hey guys, i'm using it on a helipro black hawk 500 gp aka protech 450ic, its a nitro powered heli and flies so great with this gyro, I mated with towerpro 9g. I cant tell the different between futaba gyro and this.

I was very scared of purchasing this Gyro and putting it on my T-Rex250. I originaly purchased this while waiting for the Spartan Micro Gyro to come out. This Gyro holds well! I have nothing else to compair this too, but the tail holds pretty darn good. I started my first inverted hovers last weekend 12/27/09 and the tail holds pretty well. For less then $40 I am sure pleased with this Gyro ... So much so, that I'd go as far as saying I would purchase another one for my next heli.

Excellent Gyro for that low price. Worth every penny. I have mine with a TowerPro MG90 standart mini servo and both together work very well. I have a Telebee New Version, this Dectrum GY48V and a Futaba GY401 then I don't see any differences on those three gyros. All work the same.

I must say, I was very surprised at how well this Gyro works on my CX 450.  I was using an Align GP-750 which I robbed to put in my T-Rex 500.  Well, I'm here to tell ya, this GY-48V holds the tail as well as the GP-750 for a whole lot less money.  Just make sure you set it up properly and play with your gyro gain settings till you get that solid tail!  The only thing that I did notice was letting this little jewel match up to the temperature where you are going to fly.  I live in Florida and it's quite warm here now, and after being in the cool house and then going outside to fly, she wants to drift slightly till the temperature stabilizes. After that it's works just fine.  Recommend to all!

This is a fantastic Gyro, I'm using 2 of them, both are in a HoneyBee King2, very easy to setup and dial in, head hold is fantastic, It is very solid. I would recommend this Gyro for anyone looking for a good quality gyro that won't break the bank. Terrance

well i need a little more fine tuning but this gyro is great. im using it a a little gaui200, which would make any little imperfections in the gyros functionality dramatically obvious. holds great in punchouts and doesnt seem to drift over the packs cycle. it did however drift a tiny bit after long left piros,(so little i didn't even notice it originally) but was corrected after what seemed to be any tail input. great gyro!! especially for the cost. i feel it out performs the telebee gyro i took out of this heli. i will be purchasing a few more of these for other projects.

well I have no one but my Self to blame, However I will warn the rest of you Don't, I Repeat Don't Buy this gyro.I have had it for about a week now and it dose not stop hunting the tail flicks back and forth with metronome like accuracy. The only thing I can do is make it do so harder or softer. I tried changing control horns, both limit and delay adjustments, I changed the end point adj., The dual rates, The expo, nothing worked. all I can say is you get what you pay for and Tthis piece of junk lives up to its price.I had hoped to put it on my Hk-450 which cost About 35.00 $ (nice bird By the way). I tried it on my trex-450 still won't work Acts Just The Same.if you need a good inexpensive gyro, I recomend a tellabee I got one for about 40$ much Better unit, it drifted a little at first it Seems to be Very Sensitive to rudder trim but once its dialed in it works fine. for the price a much better deal.

This is one of the best gyros on the market. This gyro holds just as good as a 401 with a inolab D760HB. The only thing is that I wish it were blue to match the hc500.

Running this gyro on an HDX 500 SAH and I have to say that I am extremely happy with its performance so far. I have it paired up with at Futaba digital tail servo and it holds hard! Still playing with the gain adjustments for mild 3D (I'm still a newbie) but works as well if not better than my 2 other HiTech packages on my 450 class heli's. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG FOR THE PRICE!!! Thanks Jody and Larry!!! Ordering 1 probably 2 more to try on my KING 2's!! Rich

well i hate to be a bumber, but i can not get this gyro to stop drifting. ive had it for a week now and tried everything under the sun from 2 and 3 layers of tape to different belt tension`s and headspeed`s with no luck. the first day i thought alright a good cheap gyro, but every day after i was curseing myself for buying it. for the last 6 days it was trim after trim reset after reset and it just doesnt hold in a hover. now in flight its not to bad but still not solid. i took it off and put the gy401 on and it was perfect. battery after battery no drift. now maybe i got a bad gyro but cant say sense its the only gy48v i have. now this is on the blade400 so it may work better on a bigger heli with a slower headspeed. but does not work for me on the blade400.

Well, I was certainly surprised when Jody told me about the "GY48", kinda of being a knock off of the GY401 gyro. I was reluctant to order it. I told myself; "what the heck, I'll put it on my G5 and if it let's loose, I won't have a wad in the repair!"...Well, let me tell you...when I got the gyro, workmanship was great and attention to detail was great too. The GY48 looked looked more like a gyro that would cost a whole lot more than under $40.00. The gyro look more like a combo of the JR7703D and the GY401. I installed the gyro and set it up just like I would for a 401 Futaba...HHat 60% and rate at 50%. I spooled up the G5 (and as you know on electrics...gyro setting are more sensitive than on the nitros); and low and behold it came up into a hover and there was just a little wag; so I reduce HH gain to around 50% and tried again. Man I tell you that the tail was rock solid!!!!! I fly mostly FAI-F3C and if you know what type that is; then, you know that tail hold is criticle in a hover. There was abosolutely no drift in the hover with 10 mph sustained winds. That impressed me more than I expected. I took it up stair and switched to rate just to see how that work. Agin I was totaly surprized. the gyro did well and I'm so happy about this ting that I called helidirect back and ordered two more of them. I said all of that to say this...if you are looking for the best bang for the buck...this is the gyro for you. Ireceived reports from Burmingham fly-in; this past weekend, where some of the pilots were already using the GY48 on thier 90's and everyone I spoke with, including Henry Caldwell, were impressed with the gyro. I've got two more coming and I'll try them on my Vibe 50 and LYK how that works out. All I can say for know is...this gyro appears to be the real deal and actually hold as good or better than the JR500T and the Futaba GY401. Give you a little of about myself and experiences...I've been flying RC planes since 1957 and RC heli's since 1976 and I've been a fatory sponsored pilot for some of the big names here in the US and in the Europian sector as well. THIS GYRO IS FOR REAL!!! Thanks for the read!! Fran Crosby SR.
