Product Details
This is the 520 NOTAR scale fuselage for the Blade CX. Made from high impact transparent Vac formed Lexan which can be painted from either inside or outside and comes with instructions. Simply paint and install. These Fuselages will fit the Blade CX other similar size co-axial helis. High Quality and looks great.
DO NOT USE ENAMEL ON LEXAN.
It will crack the very first time you crash and flake off.
The type of paint you want is polycarbonate paint. Just
google it and then click on the shopping link. Should come up with hundreds of
online stores that sell it.
When you go to mask the ""window" part of the
canopy with the foam mask, spray some ammonia based window cleaner inside the
canopy first. This will allow you to slide the foam mask sticker around to
where you need it to go. Once you have both pieces in place, use a bit of
masking tape (the blue type painters use) and put some extra tape down on the
edge of the top piece, where it overlaps the other piece. This will reduce the
chance of the paint bleeding under the overlap.
When you paint the canopy do multiple coats that are
EXTREMELY light. As in just 1 pass of light paint on the first coat and two or
maybe three light passes for the rest, let that dry for an hour or two (or blow
dry) then apply the next coat. Let dry for an hour or two (or blow dry) and repeat.
Do not try and get a perfect even paint job in the first one or two sprays or
you'll wind up having the paint run all over the place and probably under your
masking tape.
After the layer you are working on has dried, wash your
hands and dry them, then lightly rub the edges of your mask with your finger to
ensure that they're securely down. Otherwise the paint might run under them
while painting.
Hope I've covered everything you'd need to know.
