Electric Helicopters and eCCPM Volumes 7-9
Electric Helicopters and eCCPM (Volumes 7-9)

Electric Helicopters and eCCPM (Volumes 7-9)

This is the most influential helicopter DVD series you’ll ever see! We’ve made electric helicopter setup and flight trimming as simple as it can be, because we answer all the “why” questions, then show you the “how.” No matter what your level of experience, this DVD series explains the steps necessary to set up and flight trim your electric helicopter like an expert!

While we use Align R/C’s T-Rex 450S and Spektrum’s DX6 and DX7 radios for the examples, the information is totally applicable to any electric helicopter and any radio. Like all of Ray’s DVDs, he shows you the theory, then implements it through the examples. When you truly understand the “why” of electric helicopter setup, you can set up ANY radio and ANY machine!

Electric Helicopters and eCCPM includes:

• VOLUME 7: Electric Theory and Build (1 hr. 28 min.; 21 scenes)
This disk starts with a quick look at the Blade CX2 and CP Pro, then dives right into basic electric heli theory. Understand ESC operation, KV ratings and gear ratios, then learn how to solder. From there it’s on to Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery theory, care, and charging. V7 finishes up with numerous tips on how to build a perfect T-Rex 450S!

Scenes 1-9: Introduction • CX2 & CP Pro • Why 450S & Travel Box • ESC Theory • KV/Gear Ratios/RPM • Soldering • LiPo Battery Theory • LiPo Chargers/Charging • Build-Side Frames

Scenes 10-18: Mounting the ESC • Mods for Autos • Motor, Main Gears, Mesh • T/R Mods • T/R Servo/Pushrod • T/R Belt Tension • Canopy • Battery Options • Rotor Head Mods

Scenes 19-21: Blade Pitch Arms to L.E. • M/R Balance • Radio & Gyro Installation

• VOLUME 8: Transmitter Theory (1 hr. 45 min.; 50 scenes)
Learn every menu item in not one, but two transmitters! The Spektrum DX6 and DX7 2.4 GHz radios have revolutionized the places where we can fly! Find out every feature these radios have to offer, and how they work with eCCPM (electronic Cyclic Collective Pitch Mixing) helicopters.

Scenes 1-9: Why & How/Intro • DX6/7 Comparison • eCCPM Overview • DX6 Overview • DX7 Overview • DX6 System Menu • DX7 System Menu • DX7 Model Select • Swashplate Types • DX7 Input Select

• VOLUME 9: Bench Setup and Flying (1 hr. 47 min.; 41 scenes)
With the theory in hand from Volume 8, we apply it as we set up an eCCPM helicopter. While we use the T-Rex for the setup, the information is totally applicable to eCCPM glow helicopters as well. With the setup complete, we go to the field and trim out the T-Rex, all the while marveling at the quietness and smoothness of this electric helicopter!

Scenes 1-9: Binding • ESC Setup • Pre-Setup Steps • Servo Arm Leveling • Finding Servo Mechanical Limits • Servo Hole Theory for Collective • Flybar Lock & Pitch Gauge Use • Setting Collective Pitch • Level S/P at Hi & Low Stick

If you're a newbie (or intermediate) pilot... you need these dvd's. If you've got a Trex 450 (or any other small electric)... you need these dvds. If you've got a Spektrum DX6 or DX7 (or any other digital tx)... then you REALLY REALLY REALLY MUST HAVE THESE DVD'S!!!! I've watched the first two (of three)... haven't got to the bench testing/flight training yet... the build stuff on the first dvd would have been nice to have seen BEFORE I built my Trex, but, hindsight's always 20/20, right? Still some good info, though. What's really got me keen on them, though, is all the transmitter setup training on the second dvd... simply MUST have stuff if you're new to it like me, or even the slightest bit unsure about setting up your radio. This set WILL show you what all that "dual/rate that expo this" crap actually means and how to set it all up. I will warn you, the guy's a bit... "daffy"(?)... and things do tend to be a bit slow and dull at times, but, he definetly knows his stuff and breaks most of it down to the point that it's grasp-able for us mere heli mortals.
