This is a great little heli once you upgrade the frame and swashplate. If the blade hit the ground you will have to replace the servo. The plastic gears are a pain to changed.

I have had every small 3D Helicopter out there and can't believe some of these reviews. Everyone knows that the only reason Blade Helicopters don't come apart when they hit the ground is because they don't have enough power behind them to cause any damage. When you pick up an Align Helicopter you can feel the quality. when you pick up the other company' they feel cheap. How many people crying about the 150 not holding up have ever been in or seen a real Helicopter wreck? I have been in a Sikorsky SH-3H when it went down and parts go every direction. Why? Because they have so much power and weight pushing them just like a quality RC Helicopter. So all you guys who think a mCPX BL is the better way to go then go for it. Let me know how easy it is to solder those FET things on the mother board after your Helicopter is a couple weeks old. If all of you stick to those maybe our quality Helicopters wont be on back order. Bottom line the Align 150 DFC is the best small Helicopter on the market for now.

Good helicopter for a micro. Fly's well out of box and is fairly easy to set up for 3D flight if you so choose...... just don't crash ( LOL ) Parts are available but hard to work on. Rear motor wires suck and landing skid not great. No battery charger!

Good the bad and the ugly1
I have owned this for a month and a half and have actively tried to make it fly well. It will fly out of the box don’t get me wrong however it will not fly well. Sure you can adjust it until you are blue in the face and it will only get a bit better at best. Good news is you can fix it! How? Well Align sells all the upgrade parts they should have given you to make if fly correctly when you initially purchased it. With “the Align performance booster” (part number H15H008XX) you get a much stiffer frame! Good news because the stock one flexes like a Twizler (yes the candy), you also get metal swash plate in this kit. With these improvements you can turn up the MRS gain and all is well. Other note the hardware is butter soft and will all strip super easy. Other notes my canopy came in cracked, solider connections for the tail motor came off in flight and were not put in correctly. Will not crash like a MCPX BL or the 130X and in crash get ready to spend lots of $$$ to fix it, however the 150DFC if setup correctly will fly better than both the 130X and the MCPX BL. I would not recommend this heli unless your are looking for a nice heli to; spend lots of unnecessary money in upgrades, enjoy hassling with a brand new heli because you don’t have anything better to do. I would wait for the Trex 150DFC V2 super Combo with all the upgrades in one box and pass this up. See my photos of the frame swap.

Trex 150DFC is a very nice design and has tons of potential. However that’s were it all ends. Frame flex is horrible and will cause you to adjust everything when the root cause is the flimsily frame. Good news is that Align sells a stiffer frame, and a better swash plate, and a better tail motor holder too. If you buy this heli expect to spend tons more in upgrades because its only designed to fly but not fly well because it needs all the upgrades. One more thing my canopy was cracked right out of the box.

Flies great, but cheaply built in many areas. The bearing pulled loose from the swash and one of the linkage balls came out. The tail motor with wires attached is a poor design. Landing gear with wires attached is a poor design. Paint flakes off of the canopy. Main gear warps. It's very difficult to get the blade grips apart because the allen screws strip so easily. I've spent $60 fixing it and I haven't even crashed it yet! My MCPX BL flies better and is light years ahead in-so-far as design goes. I'll put it on a shelf and throw my MCPX BL around. Don't waste your money.

I absolutely love the 150! It is a superb little helicopter. The big surprise for me is that it did not come with a charger! AND I had no way to charge the battery. AND there is nothing that is said on the site that you need a charger OR recommended a certain charger for it. I had to do that on my own. VERY annoying. I finally found a charger that would work with the battery. PLEASE put a charger on the site and link it to the 150. Thanks!

I but an Align product that is supposed to be bind and fly and it doesn't come with an adapter or charger for the one battery included? And even if I did need to buy separately, Helidirect doesn't have it? So now I have to wait another week to get a charger from somewhere else...if I can find one. I used to buy align for the kit quality. I come to Helidirect because it's usually a one-stop shop. Mu message to Helidirect is, be careful to not create situations like this. We heli pilots are eager to fly, and will fly to another site without heitations.

Now that Align has the Plastic " A" frame & skids all worked out, this is a great micro. flys very much like a larger bird with stability. Has very good power to now do some 3D where other micros have fallen short in this area.. I highly recommend the align 150 to rooks wanting to break into and practice their 3d skills. With any hard crash, of course parts will break. . All part of the hobby. This kit really should include the charger however. Minus 1 star for that.

I bought this helicopter and I'm very disappointed with it .Does not fly well or handle any kind of wind and it is not durable at all like the bigger align helicopters .it does not do very good aerobatics it's very edgy and bouncey in the air .it's no where as durable as a blade helicopter. Some of the other problems is also the canopy mounts are part of the frame so if they break in a crash a whole new frame is needed .I m a experienced aerobatic pilot and I give it 2 thumbs down.if you already have a blade mcpx bl don't wast your money.i own all align helicopters but this one's a flop .align better give up on small helicopters this is there second attempt and second failure.leave the small.market to someone else

Be aware this model is NOT bind then fly. You will need a remote receiver before you can fly. It also does not come with a charger

So this helicopter flies a lot bigger than it is. It reminds me of my 300x. This is Align's first major trip into micro, pre-assembled, bind and fly, 3D helicopters. There have been a few teething issues relating to loctite making the plastic brittle where the tail and main motors mount, as well as swash separation. That said, the heli flies great and truly does fly above and beyond the competitors on the market, only needing a bit of tuning to adjust to your liking and flying style. (At least in stock form, not for you heavy modders out there) Adjustable roll rates, cyclic gain adjustment, tail adjustment, mildly adjustable ESC including timing adjustment, LVC adjustments, etc etc add to the flexibility of the 150 MRS installed on this little guy. I've only been into Blade products before which 4 out of 5 have needed parts out of the box to fly right or at all. For me, this heli is a breath of fresh air. Astroid Designs has made a new tail motor holder to prevent the motor from ejecting in a crash and tearing the motor wires, which requires a motor re-wind or replacement. The possibility of excess loctite further reduces the stock mount's durability, so it's definitely worth looking into. Simply gluing the motor in (be careful here) will greatly increase your chance of not breaking the wires. It's also not terribly difficult to remove the swash and verify the lower portion of the swash is secured to the outside of the bearing. This comes highly recommended as long as you're comfortable with planning on checking the swashplate and replacing/gluing the tail motor mount.

Ummm...You people do realize that this is a "review" section and not really a place to post your random product questions don't you?... Check out Align's website or HeliFreak's 100 class helicopter forum if you want the low down on features and charging options. If you already have a decent balance charger it's pretty easy to rig up a charging harness for charging single packs or to tap into a parallel board for charging multiple packs. The batteries use a standard 2S JST-XH connector. So far there have been several reports of tail motor mounts breaking fairly easily and severing the tail motor wires as well as swashplates separating after a few flights. So the jury is still out on these babies. It seems as though, at least the airframe in it's stock form, may not be a huge improvement in overall quality or durability versus similar helis like the mCPX BL.

One of the dudes from the club who's Align sponsored was flying this thing yesterday at the field, it was very cold and gusty, you'd be surprised how stable this thing is and how well it flies, Id give it a 5 stars, Ima get me one for sure when it becomes available, he said should be today. Along with it he got two of everything - replacements parts, I thought that was nice... :-D
