Submited By: Mehis on 04/29/2008 This motor must be more than 90% efficient than stated or just has a lot more of punch than expected. I bought this motor for my HDX500SEV2 that are powered by 6s1p A123 packs which are 2.75V/cell ~16.5V/pack under load. The plan was to try it with 94T main gears with 12T pinion gear until I get 130T main gears which would be great for this motor. So, 1470kV*16.5V/(94T/12T)*.90efficiency=2787 RPM estimated head speed. In reality, the maiden flight at 80% max throttle curve point blew my socks off and I had to reduce the throttle curve to 68% max to stay between 2700 and 2800 RPM head speed as logged by my EagleTree datalogger. This way I get ca 4.5 min flights with 6s1p A123 packs which are rather hefty at 480g. Once my 130T main gears arrive, I will try the same combo with 130T main and 15T pinion which should allow me to run some more sensible and efficient throttle curve.
