The links are great for reducing weight on your rig while maintaining rigidity and durability. However, I recommend sealing the exposed edges of the links (sand then seal with CA glue or nail polish) to prevent them from catching on a rock and tearing over time, and also that you only use one rubber ring per ball joint, as using two each makes them a little stiff (ideally, use them on the side facing outward, so your links don't fall off).
