I've used super capacitor buffers on all my larger helicopters since the R2 Prototyping days. I upgraded my capacitor buffers to these XGuard RC capacitor buffers mainly because these XGuard RC capacitor buffers are current-triggered instead of voltage-triggered as is the case with most other capacitor buffers currently available.
XGuard Plus C50 V2 Power Backup System 50F w/Telemetry, Alarm, Remote Off & Radio Switch ports
Nice backup for my 700 size helicopters, don’t have to worry about a battery. The remote feature didn’t work for me, but there were no directions on how to set that up. I just use the built in off switch.
I've already had one of these save me from a crash when I had an ESC fail on me. Worth the money just can be hard to find a place to put it on the heli.
Wish the product manual would provide additional needed information.
1-instructions for programing remote operation ( the new feature of V2!)
2-Add weight information as guide for device placement on machine.
The only caps I use for backup on my 700 helis! Gives me a piece of mind I can land my model safely if anything were to happen.
