Goosky Legend S1 Helicopter (RTF - Mode2) - Pink
Got the green RTF first. Awesome , no problems , will take some crashes. Liked it so much, ordered the pink RTF ( With radio and the 2 batteries ) to have a backup for when I trash the green one. ( Which I did , waiting for tail prop ).
If you are new to this. Radio battery is wrapped in clear plastic- remove. To turn radio on and off HOLD Power 1 (A) and Power 2 (B) simultaneously till beeps. (little over a second ) . Mark switches. If you are new to flying Helis like me, have all switches UP and AWAY from you to start except the one on the right side top (HOLD) have that toward you until ready to takeoff. That should be called CUT because it cuts the motor off. Doesn't hold anything. Be ready to flip that with the right index finger when you know a crash is about to impact.
This pink one has a little issue. I knew as soon as throttling up to take off, the tail motor is barking several times a second revving up and down to correct for every little vibration. Working it's butt off! To the point that it even cuts out in a normal hover sending the heli into a crazy spin. Must be thermal protection. When that happened I could smell the stator windings cooking on the tail motor and could feel it hot. ( it survived). So I was forced to download the app ( reminder my green S1 flew awesome out of the box , no fiddling required! ) to try and reduce gyro gain on the tail to see if that does anything. In short as soon as I dragged the bar from default 50 to twenty something , it flew like a dream , no sneezing /jumping from the tail motor and stayed cold like it should. HOWEVER might get one additional flight then the tail issue starts again. Have to remove canopy, plug Bluetooth module in , connect phone , make ANY adjustment to the rudder gyro gain ( can go UP from current setting if too low) then tail will be normal for about 2 flights. Last flight ended up leaving the module plugged in to save time on future fiddling. Every time I open the app , the bar is found where I last put it but the heli seems to ignore it and go full hyper active on the tail until it is reminded by the app where to be! If someone from helidirect has a clue to why this is happening and possible solution would be nice. Saw another review in the green S1 section not flyable due to this tail wagging issue! I bet if that customer would go in the app and made a change in the tail gyro setting (ANY change - drag the bar down a bit ) it would also give him a good flight or 2. Although it is a pain to have to repeat this every other flight. Sorry for the book!
I purchased the pink S1 after I tested the green one I got for my son. I liked it so much I had to have my own!
This heli is perfect for smaller areas for beginners to expert. Flys very well and is fairly durable. Transmitter is small but comfortable. Very good price for what you get.
Moved from FP to CP with this heli, it's super fast and powerful, worked right out of the box with included T8 transmitter and can be tuned via Goosky app after plugging in included bluetooth module. Highly recommend this heli and helidirect!
I wrapped it cup for Christmas, but it arrived
These small helis have sure come a long way. This things flies very well right out of the box. I haven't flown in years and was able to fly it pretty well in a very short time. Hard to work on because of the size but some good light and some patience it's not to bad. Def worth the money if looking for something can have a blast with almost anywhere. Helisirect was great with the whole experience and will be buying a larger heli for a winter project.
Enjoying this helicopter
The Goosky S1 looks and feels sold it out of the case . I’ve had many other micro Heli’s in the past by other brands and this is the best Heli by far. Flys very stable and would recommend for first Heli.
So good....so solid... precision instrument, and the app works great 😃.. thank you HD........
I bought this little guy and was surprised of small size excellent engineering
Good job Goosky
