Survivor or crashes more often than the plastic ones. It should have been in the kit.

This looks a lot more professional than the plastic one that came with the kit.

All parts arrived on time as described.

Fit, finish and utility are very nice. However, in 14 flights I’ve had the bolt on the right side fall out in flight on two occasions . Once with a fancy finishing cap, and once with a plain washer. No massive vibration is apparent in flight. Yes, I cleaned the bolt with IPA and used blue Permatex brand Loctite both times. All bearings in the head and tail are new and were regreased prior to installation. In 25+ years flying helis I haven’t had back to back failures like that before. The only thing I can think of is that my head/tail rpm must be at some resonant frequency with the support brace. Rather than use red next time I think I’ll change the rpm 50 or so in IU1 and see if it happens again. Good luck!

Much better than the plastic version

I installed this on my 550L and it really adds to the look of the helicopter. Also, I don't have to worry about stripping the old plastic one. The fitment is excellent and no tape is required for a tight fit to the tail boom. This and the metal vertical stab will really secure you tail boom. Anyhow great price and a great upgrade, I highly recommend it.
