This is one unit that I have not seen a single "critical" review on. Well I purchased one to try and have 2 identical 450 DFC setups that should provide a good side by side comparison vs. stock. My 2 helis have always been slightly different in that one is 100% Align (except for servos) and the other started out a Tarot. However now they are identical except for the ESC. The heads, blades, FBL unit, servos, motors - all the important stuff is the same. The frames, bearing blocks, and tail case are slightly different, again one being Align and the other being Tarot but the performance of those items is identical. The gears and bearings are Align and FastEddy respectively. But this is starting to sound like a review of my helicopter which is not my intention.
My point is, if anyone has real word info about this parts kit - please share. I am currently building a 470L with a friend and building a 450L for some side cash. As soon as I get those wrapped up I will put this kit in one of my models and let everyone know what I think. Both helis fly exactly the same and have no issues with vibrations, tail blow out, overheating of electronics. And I time my flights to 5 minutes mostly on 95% throttle and my pitch is set to about 10-11 degrees.
My confusion lies in that this is sold as an upgrade. I know there has been issues with the 450 tail given the Dremel mod and grip flip mod. Is this supposed to be a fix for that? My concern is that the tail blades already have minimal ground clearance on the 450L especially. This extends the blades a few extra mm so may be a problem. Just FYI - I did the Dremel mod even though I wasn't having any issues. Even if I don't use the extra travel provided in flight it is nice to know I have it available.
