Got the Heli and it was the Heli & controller and receipt only. No operating manual, no nothing. The T8 controller was totally unmarked too. Had to get online and look at a bunch of videos to try and figure everything out. Emailed HeliDirect multiple times for help and they told me to just contact Goosky. There are other companies out there that sell these same E2 helicopters, my next one I will not be ordering from HeliDirect.
I've ran through about 10 batteries worth now. Since flight 1 it's been absolutely solid flier. I've only flown it in a scale manner so far since I'm in a tight backyard. I've been flying RC heli's for about 20 years now so I'm quite comfortable flying this in a tight space. The heli looks fantastic in air. Very much looks like a scale of a UH-1Y (I'm flying this in Oceanside CA, near Camp Pendleton and I know a Huey pilot!). I haven't flown any aerobatics with it yet but I am confident I'll be able to perform basic flips and rolls. Be aware this will NOT auto as the tail shuts off in throttle hold. Too bad because I do think I could get a good auto since the head has good momentum with the four kind of heavy blades and freewheels well on throttle hold. This is my only grip on the flying characteristics, I wish they would have left the tail motor energized on throttle hold and shut it down only when the collective is all the way down in normal (not idle up) mode.
Anyway, this is a great heli that handles more like a larger heli. Tail is solid and stays put. Cyclic is also very solid. Collective is kind of touchy but to be expected with a heli this size.
The carrying case has places for two additional battery packs which I did order some of the Pulse packs. Be sure to get the size recommended for this kit as there is no room for any variance in battery pack size. I was also able to add a an extra set of main blades and a few other misc supplies. I did have to cut the case foam a bit to find a place to store the extra landing skids I bought.
The included charger takes about 1/2 hr to charge a pack. You'll need to supply your own USB-C charging power supply and it'll need to have a higher amperage. I am able to charge the packs using my iPad charging block as the power source.
I have wanted a scale military heli for a while now and this Venom fills the bill perfectly. The detail is amazing and you can fly it "scale" or 3D. I love the RTF version and the hard case for traveling. Looks so cool on the table or in the air.
Files great. Very stable in the air
