Purchased the Goosky S2 Max RTF as my first r/c heli - after gaining basic skills on a sim - a must.

Roughly 30 days and 100 flights in, I’d rate the model and HeliDirect each just shy of 5/5. Heres why from a 1st time r/c heli anything purchaser:

- Goosky: charge me a couple extra bucks and include a cable for the charger. I just bought a R-T-F…..
- Expected to find a couple screws needing tightening, but did not anticipate the one retaining the boom to be stripped.
- I’m mentioning the tail motor failed to initialize once around flight 30 only because it occurred. Turned model off/on and it hasn’t happened since.
- The T8 tx is serviceable, more so after customizing gimbal stick ends, and adding heat shrink to the collective gimbal pressure bar, as recommended by the internet. Improved ergonomics, and perhaps the additional leverage longer sticks offered, instantly improved my flying, to the extent I’m surprised I’ve yet to stumble across a video discussing their importance.
- The Goosky App is great, but for a newbie, having the ability to select from preloaded Beg/Int/Adv profiles would have been helpful, while retaining full customization of course. Finally, it’s a bit silly settings don’t save in the App when all is powered down and disconnected.
- HeliDirect would have received 5/5 from me had their “You may also like” algorithm included basic maintenance items: lubricants, cell meter, etc. Not saying my S2 Max model was dry, but it definitely ran smoother, quieter, and a few degrees cooler after some oil.

In conclusion, I would purchase the S2 Max as a 1st r/c heli, from HeliDirect, without hesitation, provided you’ve gained basic skills on a sim.

I paid over 30 extra for fast shipping and it took over 2 weeks to get in the mail. SLOW TO SHIP OUT! I don't understand how it can take them a whole week or longer to ship out an item. THE HELI is GREAT.. There customer service is OK but shipping out is SO SLOW..

Only negative is that the transmitter should have a way to adjust for drift with some trims. Nicely made though.

I’ve been flying remote control helicopters for 20+ years and this is the first direct drive tail helicopter I’ve owned that works as advertised,incredibly stable. Holds its tail no matter what I’m doing and flies like a BOH for its size. Great helicopter and would definitely buy again.

I am just getting back into the hobby and so far this heli has been super stable and easy to fly.

No issues at all the S2 heli she’s great! Only issue I have is with the Transmitter. It has a flaky connection to the power lights so you never really know how much power you have unless you bring a volt meter with you.
Other than that it’s really fun to fly. I might end up binding it to my DX9 for better TX power.
