The CR18P is a staple of the HobbyPlus brand. Just two years into the platform, we
are on our 3rd iteration due to the constant evolution of the 1/18 crawler market. Our
customers’ feedback along with a lofty desire to stay at the forefront of the market, these refinements create an exciting new package that propels the CR18P, yet again, to a top contender in the 1/18 market and all at a lower price!
The heart of any crawler has to be the power system. Let’s face it, without a strong/
dependable/flexible power system the experience of the chassis would not be as
enjoyable. This is why we’ve partnered with Hobbywing to push the voltage range from 2S and 3S. This is a huge update as the 3S capable system offers an array of power options for different driving styles and terrains.
Another key upgrade to the V3 is 27% under drive in the rear axle through the ring
and pinion gear. Some may consider the front axle as overdrive in this case, naturally, as
that’s the common language used. Technically they’re right, but we call it underdrive as
the front axle is the same gearing as the 2024 version. All this to say that the faster
rotation of the front drive and slower rotation of the rear drive creates more “suction” to the surface below creating a more planted, predictable and capable ascents.
Lastly, and probably the most attractive new feature of the CR18P V3, is the price. At
just $159.99 MAP for a complete RTR portal axle with full metal gears, this might be the
most compelling ready-to-run scale crawler on the market.

While the new features define the difference of the CR18P V3, the core of the platform retains all of the features it is known for:
Portal Axles
- Supreme clearance over traditional straight axles

Great truck! We turned ours into a tow truck
Really like this little crawler trail thing. It can slow crawl very good, I had to take five minutes to do the length of itself. Lights are more than bread , enough and look really good. Packaging was excellent. My only wish would be that they do come with ball bearings at some point. No i'm just waiting on the convoy to be sold in V3 form.
Great truck. Came with a missing bushing in the rear diff. Patrick sent out a bearing upgrade kit free of charge. Great customer service. Super stoked
The HobbyPlus 1/18 CR 18P T-Hunter was a great purchase. Awesome Crawler with plenty of ways to personalize/customize it.
Shipping was lightning fast and everything arrived in perfect condition.
First of all, the esc and motor combo is A-ma-zing! The slow crawl, torque and speed of the motor is absolutely crazy for this price.
I bought it first thinking of building a crawler, since I really liked how it looks. However, it tends to have a high center of gravity. After buying a CR18P V2 Convoy, I ended up fully transforming the Hunter into a Trail truck. Larger 1.3 beadlock wheel and tires, and I switched the 2 speed transmission of the Convoy into the Hunter. I can trail now without issues with even 1/10 trucks.
In summary: great value, extremely good looking truck, pretty good for trailing, needs some work to crawl in a more competitive way.
A great rig right out of the box. Tons of weight up front, decent tires hard to go wrong with it
This truck can outdo most other trucks. It’s size.
Awesome platform made better with Version 3. The performance is next level.
