HobbyWing Platinum 80A V5 ESC (3-8S)

It is a nice esc with a lot of features, bought this to replace my XDfly esc on my Goosky RS4 Venom, because it was smaller and lighter. But after installing and setup, I switched back to the XDfly 85 amp esc. The hobbywing works well but doesn’t integrate with Rotorflight as well as the XDfly esc, in my opinion. XDfly works in conjunction with Rotorflight, where as the Hobbywing misses out on a few points. I’m sure the Hobbywing loyalists will bash my thoughts, but to each their own.

This is like my 3rd ESC from hobbywing that I'm using and they are great. This one is going into my SAB Ilgoblin 420 Pro.

Works perfect. Easy to program and setup. Telemetry works pefect with Rotorflight. Price point is good.

These are great ESCs with plug and play full telemetry. 💯

I have used HobbyWing in all of my 420 and larger Heli's. They have not disappointed and have worked pretty much flawlessly. I can't imagine using any other Heli ESC.

The HW 80 A esc is just simply the best esc you can buy these days for helis. You do have to purchase the programmer box, but it's not too expensive

That said, being able to adjust all parameters, timing, servo voltage, telemetry etc. even comes w a fan that does keep it cool. One of mine only runs 118 degrees F on my SAB Goblin 420, and it's very tight in there.

Just get one, you'll see.

Nice esc works as it should. I replaced the TB40 kit esc with this one to get telemetry data.

These new v5 80'a esc's are the same size of the now discontinued v4 60a. Impressive!

I have a few of these on some 420 sized helis and it works great. Easy to change with the programmer box also.
