Product Spare Parts
I purchased the SAB Raw 500 and I really like the helicopter, but I thought the carbon parts would be a little more durable. First, shortly after I purchased it I had my Raw 500 lose all power for some reason I still don’t know. I lost servo control as well and had to watch my heli drop out of the air from 15+ feet and essentially on to its nose. That’s on the electronics, not the kit. The shock wave fractured all the carbon pieces in a few different areas and I ended up replacing all the frame assemblies. A couple of months later I landed a little harder than normal while performing a touch and go and I noticed that one of the lower side frames had a fracture just above where the skids mount. The heli flies great and I love the light weight and awesome performance, but the durability for the carbon doesn’t seem to be there as with some of the other SAB kits. It could be the size, but I have an Align 470 that has been through 4 crashes since I bought it and I have not had to replace a frame piece yet on that. I will keep observing the carbon durability as I fly it more and more.
