The Tail Locking Element holds the nuts so you can attach the tail rotor and tension the the tail drive belt. After a few hundred flights and constant re-tensioning of the tail drive belt, you may find one or more bolts is not holding. When this happens you may need to pull out Tail Locking Element and you may find that the nut has pulled through the carbon fiber. These are only $6 but if they fail you are going to crash.
One of the key things we all need to track is the tail drive belt tension. Sooner or later the original parts that came with your Goblin are going to loose their ripping power. You'll distort the CF mounting brackets. Whatever the weakness will be, you have to maintain tail belt tension so you have the full amount of available Tail Authority at your fingertips. Keep some backup of these in your travel bag. It you loose one in the grass at the field you will be glad you did.
