Steam AK420-HDX Conversion Set

So, if you have the Steam AK420 plain version, definitely get this. It's crazy inexpensive and makes a world of difference Battery is much easier to put in and remove, motor is now where it should be. Heli just plain flies better now

The conversion kit adds removable battery trays and also relocates the motor for better CG. It can also serve as an inexpensive repair kit if needed.

Nice kit with good quality. Note that the latest conversion kits include the battery tray release mechanism. Previous kits did not include it so I ordered one thinking I needed it.

This conversion kit does not include the battery tray lock mechanism. Without that, there is no way to secure the battery tray. A friend suggested that I could find the part on the hardcorercproducts website, (https://hardcorercproducts.com/products/550-600-dfc-battery-knob-black). I did purchase the item there an dit works great. Seems like a pretty important part that should be included in a "conversion kit" as without it... you're not flying unless you rig up some other way of retaining the battery tray. The part isn't listed anywhere on the Helidirect website under Steam Helicopter parts, (ak420 or ak700). Hopefully, when the HDX kit is available, it will include this battery tray lock!
