Yu Xiang F02S AirWolf Scale RC Helicopter w/ GPS Intelligent Control System - RTF
I’ve been flying RC helis for some time now, starting with 300 size ones, but nothing like this. Out of the box, this heli flies amazing! No fine adjustments and no assembly other than the tail fins and putting in a battery. The case it comes in is nice allowing storage and travel security. GPS takes a bit to connect on some days, but once there, this heli hovers all day using the GPS to stay steady. It flies shockingly well in light wind too. I haven’t tried it indoors yet so I can’t comment on that. The replication of the original Airwolf heli is almost spot on, the color being the major difference (I might repaint it). Retractable wheels would be nice, but the wheels are removable and the heli is well balanced to take off and land without them. The nav lights look great at night, it would be nice to have a nose mounted white light tho as the heli is small and far away it would be good for quick reference. The heli is a little heavy however, probably because of the scale fuselage. As a result, it does not have 12 minutes of fly time, more like 7, so be sure to get another battery or two because you’ll want to keep flying this thing. The battery is my major complaint actually. The on button is really recessed and can be hard to activate. It takes practice to click it into the belly of the fuselage and have it secure. You may think it’s in, then it falls out. I would welcome a redesign of the battery compartment. I actually had a battery fall out mid flight, but the heli survived the crash unscathed, thankfully. This thing is fast as well. I can’t wait to get it into a big field and open it up, so to speak. All in all, I’m glad I bought this. It’s fun to fly and looks amazing in the air.
Overall I love this heli, it is very detailed and flies really well. The only thing I would have to say I wish were done better is the time it takes to get enough GPS satellites to lock on to. It can take a few minutes and sometimes by the time I get her up in the air, I've lost one battery bar on the indicator lights. It advertises as 9-12 minute flight times. In my experience I get about 7, perhaps because of waiting for the GPS to lock and also once I see the lights on the helicopter start blinking, that's when I decide to land her. I probably could fly another 2-3 min, but don't want to risk running out of battery, so I land as soon as I see the lights start to blink. I also have the Bell 206 Heli, and would love to see a GPS version of that one as well. If there is a GPS version priced more affordably, I would buy it for my collection. Thanks HeliDirect for the quick shipping of my Heli, One of my favorites to fly.
Should come with 2 batteries
Just got mine today 6-13-25. Can't fly it yet due to weather but it's an awesome looking heli and is of the quality you would expect from Helidirect. If you like scale helis I highly recommend getting one.
