FlyWing UH-1 Huey 2-Blades GPS Scale RC Helicopter W/ ACE Flight Controller (RTF) - Green

It didn't work out of the box. I couldn't get it to bind. I wrote to customer service. I had checked everything I could come up with and was up front about that. But the customer service person insisted I check all of that again but this time send them pictures of it not working. I eventually found a short in the adapter from the receiver to the flightboard. I re-soldered that wire and fixed it. I asked the customer service person about replacing it. He wanted a picture and then disappeared. It flies great now. Usually Helidirect's customer service is amazing. But if I hadn't been in the RC helicopter hobby as long as I have I wouldn't have figured it out and I would probably still be taking pictures of things that don't work.

This is my first heli, although I have been flying RC planes for a few years. I bought this one because of 1) its GPS capabilities which makes it very beginning-user friendly, and 2) it's gorgeous replication of the historic Huey. All the components are beautifully made. The electronics are the latest and best. I deducted one star because of the manual. Although the version 4 I bought has been out for over a year, it seems like the only thing in the manual that was updated from the early versions was the cover page. Because of my lack of experience, I wasted a few hours trying to do set up tasks that made no sense. I finally smartened up and downloaded the version 4 manual from the FlyWing website. But even that has its failings. There are a couple of electronics connections that need to be made and that is not mentioned in the manual. I had to write to a YouTube reviewer to get that. And there's no mention of the bag of 3D printed extra parts or where to put them. Small complaints about an otherwise impressive machine.

Rotor blades are very tight and cause the helicopter some damages.
Parts to fix the helicopter are out of stock. Waste of money.

Flies as it should even in the wind.
Directions for transmitter do not agree with transmitter switches.
Blade mounting surfaces required much work by me to fit blades into the holders.
Blades were too thick.

Sent a video to fly wing tech support. Tech support stated the device defected. Support told me to reach out helidirect to see if I can get flight controller replacement

It sucks when I had to grind on the main rotors to install them! What a joke

I was hesitant to get one because of the negative reviews of the earlier versions. Than I flew my buddy's version 4. Ordered my own the same day.

This copter looks so cool but just wait until you fly it, that’s when you will be really happy. With the sound of the rotor blades spooling up and the stunning looks and then you push the throttle and it is so solid and stable and you are flying. .
