Easy to assemble and it flies great just like my Goosky RS5. Both using Nexus XR.
This is my first Goosky purchase and I was impressed! It’s a great flying helicopter and building it was just as fun. Great instructions and all parts were labeled. Highly recommend this kit!
I have bought two of these kits in the last three months. They came packaged well and well organized. My first kit had one bolt that the head was not machined properly which I ordered the bolt in package form so ill have extras. Also had a bad tail servo, Helidirect sent me a replacement problem solved. The Heli flies great as I am getting back into the Heli side of the RC hobby. The most recent RS4 Venom bought had Six screws missing and I did the same thing bought the extras just in case. Seems like a quality control issue. Just disappointing on my part. Second almost ready for maiden flight. I do feel that the ball links and the double hole servo linkage break easy. Found two with cracks at the top after installation, so have extras and look at during pre-flight. I was pleased with the instructions and easy assembly.
This is my 2nd RS4 and I can’t say enough good about this product. I bought this one for a friend. Assembly is so easy
Purchase this heli since watching all the reviews on YouTube. Of course, you tubers get paid to convince you w/o really letting you know how it really is. I’ve had nothing but problems with this build mainly because of the faulty screws that easily strip & break off. I’ve had 3X occasions where the same screw —- tail control swing arm screw breaking off in flight. I’ve had one out of the three where I had to completely rebuild the head. I have set up my tail rudder end points correctly, no binding or rubbing whatsoever. Not sure what really gives that the screw would snap. Have never experience this with other heli kits. Also, not to mention the tail push control links would also break off in flight. Read forums of reinforcing it with fishing line & CA. I did do that & never since failed except for the screws still breaking off. I’m ready to scrap this & buy a different kit. Really disappointed with this particular Goosky kit to say the least.
Nothing but the best from heliDirect fast shipping and great service!!
Been flying fixed wing for over 35 years, dabbled in 450 size flybar helis about 12 years ago...New Year's resolution: fly helis again!
So far, I can say that I'm very impressed with the current offerings of Goosky ships offered at HeliDirect. The quality is beyond reproach and is simply an order of magnitude beyond what I remember from long ago. I was so impressed with the S2, that I proceeded with the RS4 Venom.
I built the RS4 combo in about 8hrs (the S2 is included for scale purposes) paying attention to careful assembly. I struggled a bit with the GTS Goosky flybarless controller setup until I found the Goosky app, which made everything very easy to program (Note on the app, be sure to connect the BT device from the app not the general phone BT settings otherwise it will not pair.) The app allows servo centering, travel limits, and gyro gain tweaks. I still had to nudge the pitch curves a bit in the Futaba T6K radio to get spot on with the actual measured blade angles. Also, I had never used any of the S.BUS features of my Futaba receivers before, but a R3008SB and a singe servo wire in the S.BUS port went straight to the GTS. This concept was a bit strange, since most fixed wing models use all of the receiver ports direct to servos, but I guess that IS the point of S.BUS simplicity!
PRO's
-So much carbon fiber and anodized aluminum
-BIG oatmeal cookie-sized mainshaft direct-drive brushless motor
-All aluminum cyclic and tail rotor digital servos
-Hobbywing 80A ESC in aluminum case
-BT accessible GTS flybarless controller
-6S 2000 LiPo with clever tray locking mechanism
-Motor 1-way bearing and swash pre-assembled (seeming to be pre thread-locked)
-Tail and Main blades in matched and balanced sets (I checked....)
-Canopy is a flawless gloss finish with powerful magnets so it can spread and snap around the mainshaft
-Not a single missing part
CON's
-you will want to buy more
Have not flown it yet but I'm pretty confident that it'll be a solid addition to the fleet. The combo IS the way to go if you're still a noob, since you get everything less receiver and transmitter. That said, a complete novice should still seek mentorship from an experienced builder/flyer.
Many thanks to HeliDirect for every attention to order detail and very prompt order fulfillment/delivery. Reasonable pricing, fun discounts, great website functionality, and wide logistical inventory. I'm so pleased that a company seems to truly appreciate their customer base by adhering to these cornerstones.
I'm very happy with my HeliDirect experience thus far, and hope to be a customer for all my future heli needs!
I haven’t built the Goosky RS4 yet, but even unassembled, it already feels like the natural evolution from the S1 and S2. The first impression is that Goosky kept what worked — the compact engineering, the thoughtful component layout, and that unmistakable balance between power and precision — and scaled it with more maturity. The parts fit together beautifully, the machining quality looks premium, and nothing feels rushed or overengineered just for the sake of size. The RS4 gives off the sense that it’s still very much a Goosky machine: agile, refined, and designed for real-world flying, not just specifications on paper.
Coming from the smaller platforms, the RS4 feels like a confident next step rather than a leap into something unfamiliar. The increased size promises more stability, longer hang time, and room for higher-powered electronics — without sacrificing the playful, responsive character that made the S-series fun. Even before build or maiden, the RS4 feels like it will bridge that gap between compact 3D practice heli and a more serious, tuned machine capable of heavier maneuvers and smoother outdoor performance. If Goosky’s track record continues, this will likely be the model where everything comes together.
I couldn’t be more pleased with how my first Heli build is going. Goosky RS4 instructions are easy to follow and support videos from Helidirect are very helpful.
Thanks
The build was smooth. Couldn’t quite center the servo arms mechanically; needed to hook ip bluetooth and used the Goosky IOS app to level the swashplate perfectly.
It flys great. I would like to buy more Goosky batteries when they become available.
